“From Fabric to Garment: Making Fashion Possibilities Visible Before Production”

Context & Background
FabSee was conceived as a digital visualization concept to bridge the gap between textile selection and garment presentation.
In apparel and textiles, fabric is often the starting point of a garment. Yet showing how a particular fabric, print, texture or pattern will look when translated into an actual garment can be difficult.
FabSee was conceived to bridge this gap: From Fabric → to Garment.
Key Challenges
1The challenge was to make the potential application of a fabric visually understandable before the garment was physically produced.
2A user looking at a fabric needs to be able to imagine how it might look as a garment, how the pattern appears when applied to a garment form, how different garment designs change the presentation and how a fabric can move from material selection to fashion-product visualization.
Work Executed
Inspire Apps developed FabSee as a digital product concept for visualizing fabric-to-garment possibilities.
The solution focuses on the relationship between FABRIC → DESIGN → GARMENT → VISUAL PRESENTATION.
The concept enables fabric-oriented inputs to be presented in the context of garment designs, helping users visualize the potential finished appearance rather than evaluating fabric only as a flat material.
The Transformation
Earlier:Fabric Sample → Designer / Buyer imagination → Physical sample / garment → Visual evaluation
Transformed:Fabric → FabSee → Garment Visualization → Design / Selection / Presentation
Value Delivered
Created a digital bridge between fabric and finished-garment visualization. Made textile possibilities easier to communicate visually. Reduced the gap between material selection and garment presentation. Created a product concept with applications across fashion design, textile merchandising, product presentation and customer engagement. Demonstrated the use of technology to transform a traditionally visual and physical process into a digital experience.
